It’s okay because that is actually exactly Katniss’ opinion on the subject. In the first book all the cave bits have her running commentary about how she’s doing it for the cameras and thus sponsors. She does care a lot about both of the guys, but in both cases, her loyalty is founded on things both of them have done for her and her feeling like she can never repay them but has to try. Hence all of the flashbacks to bread.
